A Few Of My January Favourites & Repurchases

So I thought I would make a post based on some of my current favourite finds this month as I have been looking around at some new things to try while keeping within my budget and some items I've repurchased because I just love them so much. I would recommend trying certain products out as they are old favourites and worth the money.

Revolution's Ultra Palette Golden Sugar Version 2

I really love the gorgeous blush, bronze and highlight Revolution Ultra Palette Golden Sugar in the second version.

It's absolutely perfect for my everyday make up routine and I originally had the first version too but I opted for the second this time to give this one a try since the colour palette is fairly similar but this one is more neutral in comparison to the first with the wild highlights. I have already tested out this palette's colours and I am extremely pleased with the results.

The palette itself is highly pigmented with bronzers, some merged bronzers and blushes also highlighters are included too. The quality is brilliant and I found that they last hours on end.

All the products from the Revolution collection are all reasonably priced and this palette was only £6 which is a total bargain!

Milani's Rose Shaped Blush

Now I know these Milani rose shaped blushes have been out for a while now and I am a wee bit late investing in one but it was more of a whim type of buy. I just bought it for the sake of it and I have used it a small amount - I was surprised the colour chosen is "warm petals" and it's such a lovely toasty hue.

I do not really want to keep using it because I love the pattern so much but it's great quality and brings life back into my cheeks. It's perfect for a more natural glow and suitable for all skin tones in my opinion. The blushes come in other shades too and I purchased mine off Beauty Bay for just £9.

NYX Matte Finish Spray

I've grown fond of the NYX matte finish spray ever since I saw it in one of ItsMyRayeRaye's videos over on Youtube. She has such flawless make up all the time and when she said that she used this product as the final finish to her looks I knew I had to invest. It's only £7 and can be easily bought online or in Boots.

I do own other finish sprays from such as Barry M, Avon and the powder versions from Maybelline, Too Faced and Rimmel London too.

But I am set on using the NYX version instead as I find it does the job far better than the other products I own and when I apply it with just a couple of squirts it does not make my foundation run compared to Avon's version which always made my foundation blotchy afterwards which was so annoying. So I think I will definitely continue stick to NYX's finish spray!

Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer

I usually bounce around back and forth with primers since I can never really decide on a favourite. But I recently repurchased this one from Revolution (yes another Revolution product!) as I really like this one, it's cheap and I find that it gives me good results with my make up.

It's a fantastic primer. It's silky smooth, I really love applying it actually as it feels so nice and creates an excellent base for foundation to look amazing for an extended period. My skin is naturally quite oily and this primer works very well.

With this one my make up stays on the whole day looking surprisingly fresh. However I dont like and it is the fact that this product is pumped up with paragons.

Protip: apply in small circles to blur any out pores.

I am over the moon for the new Valentines day collection by Lush! All the products are so beautiful. I went in the other day and was in awe at the new gorgeous bath bombs, I was going to buy a ton of them but honestly I decided I probably wouldn't even use them all and I just decided to buy this beauty called "Cupid".

The scent is a mixture of rose and violets but I can smell possibly a hint of raspberry in there too. To me it smells more like bubble gum than anything else. It's very sweet but the smell is quite dusky and light so it isn't that overpowering. I can't wait to use this!

"All In Good Taste" - Kate Spade Novel

I kept seeing this novel "All In Good Taste" floating around online and with me now being a total Kate Spade fan I thought I best buy this book. I love reading anyway and it is nice to have a break away from the screen everyday and again. Reading was one of the key things I did growing up, I never stopped reading and it's nice to get back into the habit again. It's a change.

I found this novel to be quite a fun, inspiring book. Each page is more beautiful than the next! I adore the photography and quotes. It's very chic. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves traveling, photography and fashion. It's perfect for graphic design inspiration and it makes quite a pretty prop for my pictures too.

Although much of the content was gravitated towards big-cities, such as Chicago and New York. It's still worth a read though.

There are so many lovely, easy and fun ideas in there. As to be expected from Kate Spade, there are great quotes, great book reading suggestions and overall this book is so visually pleasing.

What are your favourite beauty favourites this month? Have you tried any of these products yet?

A New Year Calls For A Good Start: January Goals

I should probably start setting myself some goals each month (probably to make my life easier) but I suppose as a challenge just to see what I can get done and as a way to keep myself in line.

Since I have time before the next semester of university starts I want to get as much done as possible. That begins with my wardrobe, it's an absolute mess and every time I open it I either feel shame or groan at clothes falling out. I may end up decluttering and having a good sort out for clothes I want to keep or sell.

I really need to get into a routine of only purchasing clothes I need or really like not just anything old thing I see on the hanger that I know I will probably hardly ever wear.

Also I must start to take my time learning not to stress as much, less distractions and to keep away from toxic people. A good start to the year is to empty your mind of all the bad thoughts, keep positive with a healthy perspective and as I tell myself regularly when I feel hopeless just to "keep going". I'd like to think this year will be one of the best ones yet!

  • Try to at least post blog posts on a regular basis, open up and express myself more in posts allowing others to get to know me as a blogger

  • Get back to the gym! (all the mince pies, baileys hot chocolate and chinese food won't burn off by its self!)

  • Rearrange my desk space - I'm getting awfully bored of it now and I feel as if I want to go down a much more girly direction

  • Remind myself to get a trim this month... start getting back into the hang of making hair masks from scratch again

  • Start using my diary more!

  • Finally sort out my make up collect properly and invest in a decent beauty organiser

  • Sell all the shoes I am no longer going to wear! They're clogging up underneath my bed and there is limited space left

  • Spend more time with my mum

  • Sort out my desk drawers (I own too many things...)

  • Create some beautiful pieces of typography for my desk space

What are your goals for the the start of the year?

Heres To 2017! A Curly Haired Girls Big Dreams & Goals

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you have all had a lovely start to the New Year since 2016 wasn't exactly the best year for many people. However that wasn't the case for everybody, most people did have a good year too.

I found 2016 to be a fairly decent year for myself personally as it has been a year where I am gradually discovering myself within blogging and finding out what my weaknesses are that need to be improved.

Also I just realised now after getting a cluster of university work out of the way for submission (and I am praying to god everything is up to scratch!) that I am half way through my second year. It's gone by so quickly- one minute I'm starting, panicking and now I am almost nearly getting towards my last year. It's sad but it's exciting too as I will be pursuing new things in the future and hopefully achieving all my dreams.

Not all of them come in fancy make up packaging, boxes and bags. I have my own goals I have set for myself almost four years ago, I went through a very rough patch in my life and struggled with bad depression. I won't go into detail but this was a year after I finished college where I didn't know if I wanted to go university, I was so unsure about the future, I lost so much sleep over silly things and had little to no confidence.

I had already started a blog back then it didn't go anywhere and I didn't have money, fancy camera or anything like I do now (I wouldn't really call my current camera fancy though ha ha!). But when I used to see all of these fashionable, beautiful and talented bloggers/students and I told myself "I want to be like that too".

I wanted to better myself, educate myself and to go further in life rather than work a cafe waitressing job I did not really enjoy very much.

Also I had a very big push from one of my favourite Youtubers who live and work in Japan, she's living her life to the fullest and I spent nights. Watching vlog after vlog and it inspired me to want to also work abroad as well.

I wanted to do things with my life after that so I write down a scruffy list on a piece of paper for what I had to do in order to get where I needed to be. This wasn't even New Year either it was in the summer at three in the morning!

You can make big changes to your life at anytime that is why I am a bit sceptical over the saying "New Year, New Me". I don't really believe in that anymore. I would just rather wish another person the best of luck and a happy new year.

But I suppose it is up to each individual themselves, we all have our own thing and this is kind of like my little life story from the past few years that I felt I just had to share for this post.

I will say though what I would like to achieve this year more than anything other than perhaps losing a bit of weight, to continue stretching my blog and interacting with others online. Being healthier daily and to learn to love myself more, it can be difficult but it's something I am gradually learning.

Also to increase my Japanese studies, it's shocking I have been neglecting the language for too long now!

I think it is important to just keep reminding myself how far I have come and not to give up so easily. Simply just to keep going and never stop.

That goes for the rest of you lovelies reading too!
